Russian aviation company S7 Airlines is promoting travel with an unusual TV series aimed at introducing aliens to planet Earth.
The six-part series Visit Earth encourages alien visits with 12-minute-long episodes showcasing various aspects of life on earth such as “Nature,” “Food,” and “Art.” Created by Wieden + Kennedy Amsterdam, the comedic series first aired in Russia late last year and was beamed into space by Bauman Moscow State Technical University.
“The mission of the S7 Airlines brand is to inspire people to travel,” said Eleonora Romanova, marketing director at S7 Airlines, in a press release. “Nowadays, with TV views decreasing and younger audiences turning more to online platforms, unusual content is increasingly in demand. This presented us with an opportunity to engage and inspire our audience in a different way.”
The campaign invited Russians to become “Earth Ambassadors” and create travel guides for aliens for a chance to win airline tickets. The series was promoted with TV, cinema, social, OOH, radio, and digital activations, and is now also featured online in English.
“By mixing documentary-style content with humor and targeting the series to aliens, ‘Visit Earth’ is a positive and fun reminder for all earthlings that our planet is still the best place to travel in the universe,” Romanova said.
